Nicholas Lardy is the Anthony M Solomon Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington. He previously was a professor at Yale and the University of Washington and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. He has written nine books on the Chinese economy since 1978. The most recent, published in 2019, is The State Strikes Back: The End of Economic Reform in China. He has contributed numerous op-Ed's to the Financial Times, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal and is interviewed frequently on Bloomberg TV, CNBC, and the PBS NewsHour.
