Marcelo Claure is COO of SoftBank Group Corp. Claure, alongside Chairman & CEO Masayoshi Son, oversees the strategic direction of the Tokyo-based multinational conglomerate. Claure also serves as CEO of SoftBank Group International, where he is responsible for overseeing the vast portfolio of Group operating companies. Claure is also CEO of SoftBank Innovation Fund, a $5 billion venture fund investing in technology growth opportunities in the Latin America region and is responsible for broadening the geographic reach of SoftBank's portfolio of companies in Latin America. Prior to joining SoftBank, Claure served as President and CEO of Sprint, where he is widely credited with transforming the telecommunications company. Claure is a Board member of SoftBank and ARM, Executive Chairman of Sprint and Chairman of Miami Beckham United. Claure has been widely recognized as one of the world's most successful entrepreneurs. He founded Brightstar and built it into the world's largest global wireless distribution and services company. Claure received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance and an honorary Doctorate of Commercial Science from Bentley University. Claure is married and has six children.
