Yong Hyun Kim joined Hanwha Asset Management Co., Ltd. as CEO in May 2016. Prior to joining Hanwha Asset Management, Mr. Kim was a Senior Vice President and Head of Alternative Investment Department at Hanwha Life Insurance (formerly Korea Life Insurance). Prior to that, he was the Representative Director of Carlyle Korea Limited in charge of buyout investments in Korea for The Carlyle Group. Prior to Carlyle, he was an investment banker in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs & Co., New York, and before that he worked as a corporate lawyer at Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts, a law firm in New York. Mr. Kim received a B.A. with honors in Physics, Phi Beta Kappa, from The University of Chicago, J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and M.B.A., Beta Gamma Sigma, from Columbia Business School.
