Megan McDonald completed a Master's degree in corporate law at Oxford University and in 2000 was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. For four years Megan worked for a leading South African law firm focusing on commercial, banking and financial markets law. Since joining Standard Bank in 2001, she has been involved in the structuring and placement of over US$20 billion of transactions in the African debt capital markets, including a number of first-to-market deals in the region. Megan has held various roles across Investment Banking, including securitisation, debt capital markets and structured trade and commodity finance. Megan's current role is Head of Investment Banking for Standard International, leading a team providing investment banking solutions to international clients doing business in Africa. Megan holds B.Com and LLB (summa cum laude) degrees from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and a BCL from Oxford University, England.
