Pedro Domingos is a managing director of the D. E. Group and Head of Machine Learning Research, in which capacity he oversees an independent research and development effort aimed at exploring the frontiers of machine learning in finance. Dr. Domingos joined the D. E. Shaw group in 2018 and is a leading authority on machine learning as well as an opinion leader on the issues surrounding it. He also serves as a professor of computer science and engineering at the University of Washington, where he has taught since 1999. Dr. Domingos is the author of The Master Algorithm: How the Quest for the Ultimate Learning Machine Will Remake Our World, as well as the author or co-author of more than 200 technical publications in machine learning, data science, and related fields. He is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, co-founder of the International Machine Learning Society, and an editorial board member of the journal Machine Learning. Dr. Domingos has received numerous awards and recognitions, including a Sloan Research Fellowship, Fulbright Fellowship, and the Association for Computer Machinery's SIGKDD Innovation Award.
