Patrice Motsepe

Patrice Motsepe is the founder of African Rainbow Minerals (ARM), African Rainbow Capital (ARC) and African Rainbow Energy and Power (AREP). In 2013, he and his wife, Precious, joined the Giving Pledge, initiated by Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates. In 2017, Forbes commemorated its 100th Anniversary and honored Mr. Motsepe as one of the World's 100 Greatest Living Business Minds. In 2002, he was voted South Africa's Business Leader of the Year by CEOs of the top 100 companies in South Africa and was the winner of the Ernst & Young Best Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is a member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum which is made up of 100 of the most highly respected and influential chief executives from all industries, the Harvard Global Advisory Council and was a member of the JP Morgan International Council and was chairman of the BRICS Business Council for 2013. His honors include the Harvard University Veritas Award for Excellence in Global Business and Philanthropy, the Jewish Achievers Awards' Chivas Humanitarian Award, the McGuire Woods Outstanding Alumnus Award, Doctorate of Commerce (Honorius Causa) (Wits University) and Doctorate of Commerce (Honoris Causa) (Stellenbosch University).
