Timothy Dattels serves as the Managing Partner for TPG Asia based in San Francisco and Hong Kong and is a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Prior to joining TPG in 2004, Mr. Dattels served as a Partner and Managing Director of Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he advised several of Asia's leading entrepreneurs and governments as head of Investment Banking for all Asian countries outside of Japan from 1996 to 2000. In addition, he served on the firm's Management Committee in Asia. He received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, from the University of Western Ontario. He serves or has served on the Board of Directors of Cushman & Wakefield, BlackBerry, Invest in Canada, Parkway Holdings, Primedia, Inc., Shangri-La Asia Ltd., and Sing Tao News Corporation Ltd. Mr. Dattels is also a Trustee for Jackson Laboratories, Vice Chair of SFJazz and is the Founding Trustee of the Kingfisher Foundation.
