Sean Patrick Maloney served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a Paris-based international organization that shapes economic policy for the world’s leading democracies. Originally founded to administer the Marshall Plan after World War II, the OECD is the world’s premier policy forum where 38 like-minded nations advance policy solutions on issues such as international corporate taxation, AI governance, energy, climate change, and responsible corporate governance.

Ambassador Maloney was previously elected five times to represent New York’s 18th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 2013-2023. While in Congress, Representative Maloney chaired both the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee and the Commodity Markets and Digital Assets Subcommittee. He was appointed by the Speaker to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and was elected by his colleagues to House leadership in 2020. He is the author of more than 40 pieces of legislation that have become law.

The Ambassador’s previous public service includes serving as the first deputy secretary to the Governor of New York and as the White House staff secretary, where he managed the President’s daily briefings and decision-making process. In the private sector, Maloney helped found a financial services software company and worked as a partner at two global law firms.

Raised in Hanover, New Hampshire, as the youngest of six siblings, Maloney attended public elementary and high schools before earning undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia. He worked as a volunteer with the Jesuits in rural Peru between college and law school.
