The Golden State: A New Frontier for California and Asia Relations? A Conversation with Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis

December 9 at 11:30 am SGT

California-Asia ties run deep. The state is home to millions of Asian-Americans, and benefits from inbound tourism, international students, immigrant entrepreneurs, and financial flows across the Pacific. Immigrants from India, China, Korea, and many other countries help drive California’s role as a global innovation hub. In return, Asia consumes many Californian brands, including entertainment, technology, food and beverage, and lifestyle and culture. How can such cultural, human, technology, and financial flows be strengthened for continuing mutual benefit? What’s next for California-Asia relations? How can California’s role as a gateway to Asia help reinvigorate relationships across the Pacific?
