Tom Ryan is the President and CEO, Streaming of Paramount Global, where he oversees the company's global direct-to-consumer division that spans paid and free streaming – including, among other businesses, Paramount+ and Pluto TV. Under Tom’s leadership, Paramount+ has been the fastest-growing premium subscription streaming service in the United States since its launch in March 2021. Scaling the service from an underdog to an industry leader, Paramount+ has become a top-five streamer in the marketplace with nearly 56 million subscribers worldwide at the end of 2022.Tom pioneered and popularized the Free Ad-supported Streaming Television (FAST) industry as co-founder and CEO of Pluto TV, which he launched in 2014 and scaled to over $1 billion in annual revenue by 2021. With nearly 79 million monthly active users, Pluto TV is a FAST category leader and the first such service to be listed in Nielsen's television consumption tracker "The Gauge," by achieving 1% of all TV viewing in the U.S. Earlier in his career, Tom served as CEO of the crowdsourced design marketplace Threadless and SVP of Digital Strategy at EMI Music, as well as co-founder of the early digital music service Cductive (which was acquired by eMusic). He holds an AB from Dartmouth College and an MBA from INSEAD in France.
