Donniell Silva

Donniell Silva currently serves as senior director of global programming at the Milken Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank focused on catalyzing practical, scalable solutions to global challenges by connecting human, financial, and educational resources to those who need them. As a senior member of the global programming team, Silva leads the strategic direction of content curation at Institute convenings, which bring together top experts, innovators and influencers from different backgrounds and competing viewpoints to tackle some of our most critical global issues. Prior to joining the Milken Institute, Silva served as director of programming at Concordia, working to maximize global impact of social and economic initiatives by promoting public and private sector collaboration. Silva now serves as an advisor to Concordia. Silva previously applied metrics to Commitments to Action at the Clinton Global Initiative, developed an environmental campaign strategy with Greenpeace, conducted policy research and analysis in the U.S. House of Representatives, and worked with the Moroccan Ministry of Health to prioritize rural health education and access with the Peace Corps. Silva speaks Moroccan Arabic, French, and a bit of Taschelheit. Her passions, both personally and professionally, include global health, international relations, food policy, cultural diplomacy, good governance, corporate citizenship, social and economic mobility, and human rights. Silva holds a master’s degree in international political economy and development, with a specialization in development and health economics from Fordham University and an MA joint honours in international relations and art history from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, U.K.
