Sarena Cheah
Executive Director, Sunway Group; Chair, Management Committee, Jeffrey Cheah Foundation
Sarena Cheah has been with Sunway Group since 1995, starting her career in Corporate Finance and Internal Audit, before joining the Education and Healthcare divisions. In the ensuing decade, Sarena assumed various positions within the Group, including Sales & Marketing and Strategy & Corporate Development, before assuming her current role as Managing Director of the Property Development Division, Malaysia/Singapore. Sarena was also instrumental in the establishment of the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, the first-of-its-kind in Malaysia for private educational institutions, modelled after some of the oldest and most eminent universities in the world. Adopting a social enterprise model, the Foundation is the largest-of-its-kind advancing education in Malaysia, where Sarena currently chairs the management committee that oversees and day-to-day operations.
