Craig Thorburn
Director, Office of the Chief Investment Officer, Future Fund
Craig has been with the Fund since inception in 2006 and was a senior member of the in-house Portfolio Strategy team from 2007 to 2012.
In July 2012 Craig took up the new role of Director – Emerging Markets; leading the Future Fund’s efforts in better understanding the complexities of investing in Emerging Markets across all asset classes.
In 2019 Craig moved to the role of Director, Private Equity with investment responsibilities cutting across venture, growth and buy-out sectors and with a focus on China and other emerging economies.
In 2021 Craig was appointed to the new role of Director – CIO Office. For this role Craig is the ‘Chief of Staff’ for the Chief Investment Officer, with responsibilities cutting across both the CIO Office and the entire Investment Team. This is a strategic role, focusing on investment policy and capability development and implementation.
Craig graduated from the Australian National University with both a Bachelor of Commerce degree and post graduate qualifications in Economics.
