Simone Friedman

Simone Friedman manages grantmaking across the foundations and other charitable giving programs under the EJF Philanthropies umbrella. Her current focus is on serving as the chair of the Partnership for Patient Advocacy, a new initiative that develops media campaigns to help empower patients and their loved ones to advocate for the best medical care possible. She also has an interest in promoting a food system that centers on health, sustainability, and justice, as well as supporting efforts to advance entrepreneurship and help close the racial wealth gap.

Previously, Friedman led impact campaigns for Jonathan Safran Foer’s book, We Are the Weather: Saving the Planet Begins at Breakfast, and for Christopher Quinn’s Eating Animals film, which won the Environmental Media Association’s Documentary Award while she was serving as the film’s impact producer. Friedman also is a former entrepreneur, having founded and later sold an analytics company focused on analyzing trends in innovation.

Friedman currently serves on the boards of The Impact Guild and Media Impact Funders.
