Director Alexandra Schueler relocates from New York to lead operations in Miami
MIAMI -- The Milken Institute is extending its presence with the relocation of Alexandra Schueler, Director of Business and Program Development, to South Florida. With a growing business economy that spans various industries, South Florida is a prime market to build on the Institute’s mission of connecting people, organizations, and resources to accelerate solutions to many global challenges.
“The ability to take advantage of the dynamism which has long made the Florida market attractive to both talent and resources will allow us to connect local issues with global opportunity,” said Richard Ditizio, President, Milken Institute.
“We are thrilled that the Milken Institute has expanded to Miami,” said Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. “Miami’s strong growth is built on a convergence of talent, technology, and capital. Milken’s expansion is an investment in our vision to make Miami the epicenter of capital, tech, and talent for the 21st Century.”
Earlier this month, the Institute held the first of its programming initiatives in South Florida with a small gathering of business professionals to discuss global issues including the pandemic, health care the economy, and more. Following the success of the event, the think tank will continue to facilitate conversations and other efforts in South Florida with an eye toward global and domestic change.
“By connecting human, financial, and educational resources, the Milken Institute is eager to join with the collection of diverse leaders in South Florida to proactively address the many challenges we’re facing in this country and abroad,” Schueler noted.
“I know - as do many Miamians - that the Milken conferences have created immeasurable value for all sectors of society by bringing together a diversity of talent to solve some of our most complex challenges, from biotechnology to sustainable urban growth, Suarez added. “We warmly welcome the Milken Institute to Miami and look forward to working with it in the future.”
South Florida is the latest Milken Institute office, joining Santa Monica, CA, Washington, DC, New York, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, and London.
