WASHINGTON—Vice President Joe Biden has named Greg Simon to lead the national cancer “moonshot” initiative. As the founding president of FasterCures, Simon has long been a tireless advocate of bringing diverse stakeholders together to improve the medical research system.
“Greg is undaunted by big challenges,” said Margaret Anderson, executive director of FasterCures and acting president and CEO of the Melanoma Research Alliance. “His professional and personal experience will make him a strong and passionate leader to carry out Vice President Biden’s vision of accelerating cancer research efforts. Greg is the ideal candidate to identify short- and long-term goals, bring the right parties to the table and cut through red tape. He focuses on getting things done.”
FasterCures stands ready to work on the moonshot initiative and with all stakeholders, including patients and their advocates, who believe that saving time in medical research means saving lives.
FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute, is an action tank, determined to remove barriers to medical progress. We have only one goal: to save lives by speeding up and improving the medical research system.
