Recalibrating Workforce Development Across California

The COVID-19 crisis has had far-reaching consequences, including the upending of traditional work systems and the continued exacerbation of existing inequities in California’s economic landscape. Vulnerable communities have experienced the greatest impact, highlighting California’s need to reimagine workforce development.

The Center for Regional Economics’ latest report, “Recalibrating Workforce Development Across California,” offers a roadmap to recovery by recommending state policy actions that will lead to a more resilient workforce of the future. Through enhancing access to education and employment opportunities and bolstering public-private partnerships across the region, California can develop a 21st century workforce poised to meet current challenges and improve economic stability across the region.
