Future of Health Summit 2019

Resilient Communities, Successful Disaster Recovery

A panel of disaster-recovery experts and philanthropists will discuss how they can work together to build community resilience in order to help communities recover more successfully and quickly. This session will build on previous discussions that identified the highest priorities for improvement in preparing communities for disaster response and recovery, including ensuring that the needs of populations in all parts of the community are addressed. The long-term public health of individuals and countries relies on bringing all stakeholders together to understand needs and priorities, as well as securing resources and using them effectively. The panelists and attendees at this session will discuss how to break down existing silos that hinder coordination, how to focus on long-term recovery and public health, and how to develop actionable goals to achieve workable solutions.
