Enhancing Resource Mobilization to Meet Development Goals in Latin America (Invite only)

In recent years there has been widespread recognition that in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), new paradigms are needed in development financing initiatives. In Latin America (and the Caribbean), the estimated gap between current levels of development financing and the level needed to meet the SDGs is estimated at over $600 billion annually. At the heart of the call to move from "billions" to "trillions" in development finance is a multifaceted approach to financing the SDGs, which includes refining the role that multilateral development institutions play. In this private session, we will examine strategies for enhanced resource mobilization and the role that multilateral institutions can play in devising actions to crowd in additional private-sector investment and turn the SDGs into reality across Latin America.
