Citi's Christopher Hite Joins FasterCures Advisory Board

Hite’s decades of healthcare finance experience will enhance center’s approach to biomedical innovation

WASHINGTON, August 13, 2019 – FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute, today announced the appointment of Christopher Hite, Vice Chairman of Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory and Global Head of Healthcare at Citi, to its advisory board.

Hite will play a key role in several FasterCures initiatives, primarily in the area of biomedical research and development funding. As a leading financial advisor to healthcare companies globally, Hite’s experience will bolster the organization’s approach as it works to break down barriers to a high-performing system that better serves patient needs, according to FasterCures executive director Tanisha Carino, Ph.D.

“I am thrilled to be joining the FasterCures advisory board,” said Hite. “The healthcare sector is a critical engine of our economy. In the next decade, it will be poised to redefine what it means to cure disease and improve health. FasterCures is uniquely suited to stay ahead of these dynamics, and work with leaders in business, government, and philanthropy to achieve a future where all patients benefit.”

For more than 20 years, Hite has advised hundreds of healthcare companies on projects ranging from mergers and acquisitions to capital formation. He has worked with some of the world’s leading companies, including Roche, GSK, Shire, Celgene, Astellas, and Johnson & Johnson.  In the last year alone, Hite has advised on mergers and acquisitions exceeding $200 billion in cumulative transaction value, according to Citi.

“As we enter this new phase in FasterCures’ evolution, we need to be operating at the intersection of finance and health. When in sync, these two areas can move cures to patients in more efficient and effective ways,” said Carino. “With Chris as our partner in this effort, we will have a strong voice in the conversation about innovation, which is critical to the future of health, here and around the world.”
