With the proliferation of smartphone applications that offer greater convenience and access to food, and wearables and sensors that can track and monitor our movements, symptoms, and mood, has our health improved? Out of the thousands of available solutions, there are currently a limited number of evidence-based tools available and an even smaller number that are FDA-approved digital therapeutic solutions. Has easier access led to more health-conscious and nutritious choices? Has the 'quantified-self' movement of self-tracking actually improved behavior and health outcomes? Or is it just hype?
