Over the past few months, we have witnessed multiple failures and near-failures of banks. In response, the US Government has supported the banking sector in ways not seen since the 2008 global financial crisis. Were the vulnerabilities unique to banks already identified, or are they symptomatic of wider problems within our banking system? What changes need to be made to laws, regulations, and oversight of banks?
