Innovation is accelerating in every part of the health-care ecosystem. One direction for such innovation is to improve existing processes and technologies to increase the safety and efficacy of medical products and accelerate the speed and precision of such development. The other direction is to pursue revolutionary scientific advances in medical products, such as vaccines for cancers, targeting “undruggable” proteins, genetically targeted cell and gene therapies, and AI-based diagnostics. This session’s panel of experts will discuss the policy environment needed to continue the pace of innovation and how these issues might be reflected in the priorities for the new Administration and Congress in 2025.
