Africa’s demographics are wildly compelling. By 2050, 90 cities in Africa will have more than a million people. Six of the world’s mega cities—those with more than 10 million—will be in Africa by 2050, and 17 others will have more than five million people. The current median age in Africa is 19, and by 2050, it will still be below 25. There is now, and will continue to be, strong consumer demand driven by this growing, literate, young population of early, voracious adopters of new technologies. These demographics, coupled with the need for healthcare and climate-focused investments, are signals to investors that Africa is a region of opportunity, ready for their capital.
