Middle East and Africa Summit 2022

The Future of Entertainment (Invite only)

-

Movies, music, TV shows, sports, podcasts, video games: our favorite past times are not going away, but the form in which we consume them is where the future grows fuzzy. The entertainment industry is equal parts influenced by shifts in culture, technology, and in the ways people consume stories. The fact that new algorithms on social media platforms can decide, behind the scenes, who we should spend our time watching raises a host of questions. How much of a celebrity's success is based on their talent versus their ability to promote their image, philanthropic initiatives, or business success on social media? How will we relate to and interact with our favorite stars in the future? What is the importance of talent-owned and incubated brands and owning your own IP and content? Has the paradigm shifted in terms of endorsements and equity deals that talent can now demand? How important is it to be global in a world that is moving faster than ever?
