With more than US$4 trillion in assets under management, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) have created a global venture hub and investment ecosystem to rival Silicon Valley. In the first half of 2024 alone, GCC-based SWFs lead the world in venture funding. Our session brings together global investors, ecosystem builders, and entrepreneurs to discuss the role that relationships and partnerships can play in building a more resilient investment environment. We will consider how investors from outside the region can engage and share expertise in this emerging space, define how innovative companies in crowded marketplaces showcase their true value to investors, and examine the lessons GCC or APAC countries can learn from Silicon Valley as they build out their venture ecosystems.
