Preventive measures, including vaccinations, screenings, diagnostics, and prophylaxis, are crucial in helping individuals maintain health and wellness. As populations age and chronic diseases become more prevalent, adopting preventive health care can fend off diseases and identify health problems early when interventions are often less costly and have better outcomes. In essence, preventive care helps health systems reduce the cost of expensive treatment, hospitalizations, and emergency care and improve population health. Although preventive care has proven to have profound benefits, shifting away from the current treatment-focused care paradigm has proved challenging. This session will bring together leaders in health to explore strategies to advance the prevention-first paradigm and to discuss the types of emerging partnerships.
